Executive Committee

Mission:
The Executive Committee shall direct the management of the affairs of the Corporation in the interim between meetings of the Board of Directors, subject to the oversight of and ratification by the Board of Directors.

Goals:
1. Work with the PIP Leadership Council to disseminate key LEDC metrics to the PIP investors via direct discussions and via public relations with media.
2. Initiate an expanded communications plan, including:
a. Weekly e-mail newsletter to LEDC board members
b. Monthly e-mail newsletter to PIP investors, city council members, ED partners and other "active" stakeholders
c. Monthly Boomerang advertisements directed primarily at city and county citizens
3. Encourage the city to designate an employee with ombudsman rights and duties


Business Retention and Expansion Committee

Mission:
The LEDC BR&E Committee is responsible for the development of the LEDC Retention and Expansion Program to retain and encourage expansion of existing businesses.

Goals:
1. Partner with the Laramie Chamber of Commerce to identify existing business to include in the Synchronist Survey program, complete the surveys and analyze the results.
2. Identify burdensome trends hindering existing businesses' ability to thrive
3. Identify local business needs
4. Identify tools to help existing business expand and grow
5. Maintain a list of past and active LEDC "existing company" customers
6. Direct staff to build proactive relationships with existing companies, including WTBC client companies, comprised of:
a. At least semi-annual "check-ups" asking if the companies need anything
b. Advocacy to community in case of high/low event in the company

Industrial Properties Committee

Mission:
The LEDC Industrial Properties (IP) Committee is responsible for the supervision of the LEDC land to be used to attract new business and retain and encourage expansion of existing businesses for the residents of Laramie and Albany County. The IP Committee reviews all usages of LEDC properties, sales proposals and makes recommendations to the LEDC Board. The IP Committee maintains oversight of transportation issues relating to LEDC properties and recommendations to the LEDC Board and other community organizations in that regard.

Mission:
The Leadership Committee will secure the operational funding for the LEDC; and review and investigate various funding opportunities to insure LEDC's long term sustainability.

Marketing & Communications Committee

Mission:
The Marketing Committee will identifying and secure channels of communication that are effective for reaching PIP and stakeholders and the general public. The Marketing Committee will promote LEDC to service clubs and other community organizations and distribute LEDC brochures and literature to local businesses' lobbies.

1. Annually coordinate speaking engagements for LEDC presentations to service clubs and other like entities.
2. Promote LEDC to local businesses and distribute LEDC brochures and literature to local businesses' for their foyers and lobbies. Keep track of the businesses with brochures and keep information available as needed.
3. Establish better communications with community, i.e., New Releases, Boomerang and other news sources articles, etc.
4. Implement a "business appreciation" event - an annual no-cost event celebrating doing business in Laramie.

Recruitment Committee

Mission:
The LEDC Recruitment Committee will support LEDC staff in any way deemed appropriate when bringing in new companies. Assistance will also be provided by this committee to evaluate companies and to bring closure to the recruitment process at the appropriate time.
